4Creeks is collaborating with PBK Architects to design a new high school in Dinuba, CA, addressing the overcrowding of the existing facility by creating a campus to accommodate 3,000 students. This comprehensive project includes specialized classrooms, athletic facilities, and an all-purpose stadium, marking a significant milestone for the Dinuba Unified School District and offering 4Creeks the unique opportunity to shape the school from the ground up.
It’s not everyday that you have the opportunity to design an entire high school from the ground up. Yet, this is just the opportunity our engineering team is currently in the midst of.
After the successful design of another education facility project in Visalia – Ridgeview Middle School – 4Creeks teamed up with PBK Architects again to develop this new project in Dinuba, CA. This project is very important for the Dinuba Unified School District since the existing high school has become overcrowded. The number of students currently attending the existing high school has grown to approximately 2,000 students. The school district needs a new high school to move its ever-growing student population. After the move, the existing high school will then become the new middle school campus.
The campus will have the classrooms and supports facilities necessary to accommodate 3,000 students. These facilities include classrooms for general education, special education, science labs, and career tech classrooms/labs, agricultural farm, administration facilities, multi-purpose/kitchen facility, media center/library, two gymnasiums including wrestling facility, teacher work areas, performing arts (band, choir, drama) facility, outdoor athletic facilities including an all-purpose stadium for football, track/field and soccer, eight tennis courts, baseball stadium, softball stadium, outdoor practice fields that accommodate multiple teams, an aquatic center, custodial/maintenance/storage building, and parking.
4Creeks has had the pleasure of providing engineering design and surveying services for several school remodel projects recently, but this project adds a level of excitement because we are starting with a blank canvas. 4Creeks’ Engineering Design Lead, Kyle McDonald, P.E., MBA, said, “High Schools are not built everyday in the Central Valley. It’s nice to be able to work on a project of this magnitude where we can participate on it from start to finish.”
This project is currently under construction with the tentative timeline to open in the Fall of 2024. Images show the original concept and some current construction update images.
